MARMALADE THEATRE'S PERFORMANCE IN 2014 OF

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

In 2013 Sue Dyson visited her friends Bob & Wendy May in the glorious surroundings of their country gardens on the outskirts of St. Albans. Whilst perusing their impressive array of floral delights, Sue noted to Bob how marvellous it would be to hold a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in such beautiful surroundings to which Bob immediately replied “do it”.

Over the next 12 months, an abundance of activity took place to cast the play, prepare the venue and sell tickets to local theatre goers. The performances came and went in early July without so much as a hitch and resulted in not only a fantastic addition to St. Albans’ bustling theatre arts community, Marmalade Theatre Company, but also a substantial charitable donation to Parkinson’s UK and St. Michael’s Church. Local press and residents alike praised the performance most highly and all asked the same question; what will you be doing next year?

After much discussion it was decided that not only had organising the performance been great fun but that it had also supported two very worthy causes. As such we are proud to announce that in June/July 2015 we will be putting on an open-air performance of William Shakespeare’s classic – Much Ado About Nothing.

A REVIEW FROM THE HERTS ADVERTISER

"Now that Marmalade Theatre is off the mark, it would be lovely to see them perform again in the future and that is a view I am sure the audience on the three performance nights will share"
